DownShift is a Kentucky hard rock band originally formed in 2002. After early regional success and sharing stages with national touring acts like Bobaflex and Josh Todd of Buckcherry, the band eventually went inactive as life pulled the original members in different directions.
The current lineup features Marty Young on vocals, Gary Spigle and Chad Sinkhorn on guitars, Brandon Curlis on bass, and Damon Spigle on drums, carrying the band’s original hard rock foundation into a new era.
In 2025, the band was reignited when original member Marty Young returned to kentucky. What began as casual jam sessions with Gary’s son quickly grew into a full revival of DownShift, bringing in a new generation of energy and a rediscovery of their love for music.
